A Sister Parish is first and foremost a relationship intentionally developed between two Catholic parishes. It is a rich opportunity for the children of God to become united in their common faith and growth in the Lord, sharing neighborly love and support for one another both spiritually and materially. For many months now, our rosary groups have been offering the rosary for our Rwandan Sister Parish every Wednesday. In turn, St. John XXIII Parish has been offering a rosary on Wednesdays for all of us at St. Mary!
To establish a sister parish relationship between St Mary Parish, Hudson, USA and
St. John XXIII Parish in Karangazi, Rwanda.
To mutually grow together spiritually by educating one another regarding what it means to be a neighbor, regarding our faith, our countries, and our cultures by developing relationships between our people, which we would support by our actions.
To grow our love for our Rwandan neighbors by engaging and supporting each other in a sister parish relationship.
Encourage parishioners to expand their view of “neighbor” by engaging and supporting their new neighbor by participating in the four pillars (Spirituality, Education, Relationships & Actions) of our Rwanda sister parish relationship.
