Exercise Opportunities

Healthy Challenge 2018 – Challenge yourself and friends to track your exercise. The Healthy Challenge runs from January 1 through December 1. Complete the Healthy Challenge card, track the number of hours you exercise or participate in Faith Community Nurse ministries and you are awarded an entry for each hour of activity. Winner is announced at our December Parish Thursday Dinner. You can pick up the Healthy Challenge card in the Wellness Room or Parish Office.
Fit and Fall Proof – A class designed to promote better strength, balance and mobility. Fit and Fall Proof is taught by certified Personal Trainer, Jill Rango. This class will be a combination of strengthening exercises and balance challenges designed to help each participant lead a healthier, more confident, and more active lifestyle. Classes will take place on Mondays from 1:00 to 2:00 pm in Room 101/102. There will be a “free-will” offering to cover the cost of the instructor.
Chair Yoga – Not everyone can get up and down off the floor easily making traditional yoga classes difficult. With the help of a chair, anyone can practice yoga with the same benefits of increased circulation, balance, flexibility, mobility and strength. Suitable for all ages and all fitness levels, this yoga class uses a wellness approach in helping you to slow down while nourishing joints, ligaments, tendons and fascia. No yoga experience is necessary! This class will have you in and around a chair and will incorporate some floor work for those who are able. Katherine Szerdy is our instructor. Join us Wednesday’s from 11:30am to 12:30pm. A “free-will” offering would be accepted to cover the cost of our instructor.
Liturgical Yoga – Classes meet Wednesdays from 9:30 to 10:45 am at St. Mary Parish in Room 101. Our instructor is Linda Riddell. It is for the beginner to more advanced participants. All are welcome! Please wear comfortable clothing; bring a yoga mat and water. Individuals should be able to sit comfortably on the floor. A “free-will” offering is collected to help pay for our instructor.
Biking and Walking Groups – Consult the bulletin for times and dates.
Faithfully Fit Forever (FFF) – meets Thursdays from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in Room 101. The one-hour, free class features a health tip, warm-up, aerobic exercise, cool down and reflection. Chair, low-impact to high impact aerobic exercises are done.
