Music is an important aspect of the Church’s worship. All pastoral musicians exercise a genuine liturgical ministry and are recognized as a valued and integral part of the overall pastoral ministry of the parish. There are several ensembles at St. Mary Parish for you to consider.
The choir is composed of men and women of all ages and backgrounds. The choir leads the congregation at the 9:30am Mass on Sunday and occasionally at other liturgies. This ensemble is a rewarding ministry for those who like to sing in harmony and challenge themselves with a variety of sacred music. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings, 7:00-9:00pm. The choir serves the Church at prayer; they are ministers who share the faith, serve the community, and express the love of God and neighbor through music.
Saint Mary Children's Choir invites all children from 3rd grade through 8th grade to praise the Lord through singing! Choir meets every Thursday from 6:30pm to 7:30pm in the church. Children's Choir sings at 11:30am Mass every other Sunday. See the link below for specific rehearsal dates and mass dates. Contact Director, Katie Gladman, for more information or to join.
Coordinated by Jeff Botos, this contemporary ensemble serves the 5:30pm Mass on Sunday evening. Currently, the ensemble is complete with musicians and vocalists. This ministry could benefit from substitute musicians. Students who wish to participate must be at least a junior in high school and adults are welcome. The ability to keep rhythm, tempo and pitch are required to participate in this ministry. Auditions are required.

The cantor is both a singer and a leader of congregational song. Cantors must possess a presence that is prayerful and welcoming. Cantors must be able to sing on pitch, use accurate rhythm and have an understanding of tempo. Cantor scheduling and music selection is done months ahead of time to assure preparedness for the Mass. The Director of Music is always available to help and answer questions before assigned liturgies. For an audition, please contact the music office. There are no age requirements.
This ensemble assists in liturgical singing for funerals. Choir members are asked to arrive 30 minutes before the Mass. Sacred music has an integral role in the funeral rites, since it can console and uplift mourners while, at the same time, unite the assembly in faith and love. Members of this ensemble are contacted a few days in advance by volunteers.
