Respect Life Ministry

The Respect Life Group is dedicated to defending the sacredness of human life from conception to natural death. We focus on education of life issues, prayerful intercession and community awareness.

The Respect Life Committee meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm to plan events to help foster a pro-life awareness in the parish. All are welcome. Please contact Janet Todaro for more information.

Respect Life Events at St. Mary Parish

This October, Respect Life Ministry hosted an Evening on Post Abortive Healing for the parish as well as Life Teen. Robin Swoboda and Rachel Benda of Bethesda House of Healing shared their personal experiences on the devastating and lasting effects the decision to abort can have on a woman’s life.

Prayer Vigil at Akron Abortion Clinic

The Respect Life Committee of St. Mary Parish invites everyone to share time in prayer with us outside the abortion center, 692 E. Market St., Akron, every Second Saturday of the month. Cars leave St. Mary Parish’s parking lot after the 9:00 am Mass or you can meet us at the center at 10:00 am. We pray at the BACK of the clinic. Please park at the Asian Services in Action, 730 Carroll Street, to join us.

We are a prayerful, peaceful witness ~ we pray to end abortion. We add dignity to the souls returning to their Creator by our close presence. We pray for the mothers and fathers of these babies, that Mary and her Son will comfort them in the spiritual and emotional agony that frequently follows the abortive death of a child. Please join us on any Second Saturday of the month in the many prayers needed to dignify these lives.
