2016 Scholarship Winner, Nicole Lehman

Each year, the Saint Mary Men’s Club awards a college scholarship to a Saint Mary Parish Community High School Senior. It is a scholarship named for the late Reverend Joseph Costello, a pastor who served the parish for many years prior to his death.

The scholarship is for educational training beyond high school at any college, university, seminary, convent or technical school.

The CRITERIA for this scholarship is, as follows:

  • Personal Commitment and Involvement in One’s Faith
  • Community Service
  • Extracurricular Activities
  • Character and Leadership
  • Academic Record

Scholarship applications are available on or about March 1 of each year (see the Bulletin for details). Applications must be completed electronically and returned to the designated e-mail address by the prescribed due date (about six weeks later) for consideration by the scholarship committee.

2016 Recipient – Nicole Lehman

The Saint Mary Men’s Club is pleased to announce the 2016 recipient of the Reverend Joseph Costello Memorial Scholarship is Nicole Lehman. She is the daughter of David and M.J. Lehman.

As a senior at Hudson High School, Nicole excelled academically. She participated in Student Government and Junior Leadership Hudson. She enjoyed the performing arts at school and was in band, jazz band, and orchestra. She has a strong interest in vocal music, as well.

Nicole is a 13-year member of the Girl Scouts and is a Girl Scout Ambassador.

She has also demonstrated a strong commitment to her faith through her leadership and participation in the Life Teen youth ministry program.

Nicole will be attending Cornell University and will be pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Labor Relations.
