Our parish community began in the 1850's with Irish laborers and their families coming to Hudson, Ohio to work on the Cleveland-Pittsburgh Railroad. Cleveland's first Bishop, Amadeus Rappe established the parish community with former circuit-riding Irish priest, Father Eugene O'Callaghan as its first pastor.
By the 1950's parish membership had grown dramatically, leading the community to purchase 62 acres of land at the corner of North Main and Prospect Streets - our current site. With a generous donation from the estate of Julia Colnan, who came to Hudson from Ireland to work as a domestic, the Church building was completed and Mass was celebrated for the first time during Holy Week, 1970.
During the 1980's, Father Joseph Costello recognized the need for a renovated campus and led a fundraising campaign for new parish offices, an outdoor gathering area and indoor meeting spaces.
Again due to growing membership, in June of 1995 the parish celebrated the dedication of its present, much-larger capacity Church building. The interior of this space was extensively renovated in 2016 under the leadership of pastor Father Edward Kordas.
Adding to the beauty of the campus, an outdoor grotto dedicated to Mary was completed in 2009 and an outdoor grotto dedicated to St. Joseph was completed in 2017.
