Sacramental Policies

Baptisms

Baptism of infants and young children are ordinarily scheduled twice a month after the 11:30 AM Mass.  Parents are required to attend a Baptism Preparation Class for their first child.  Call the Parish Office to make arrangements for Baptism and class.

 First Reconciliation & Eucharist

Preparation of second graders for these sacraments begins in September and is required. First Reconciliation is usually received in January and First Eucharist is received in May.  Call the PSR Office to make arrangements.  Preparation of older children is provided as need through the RCIC, facilitated by Fr. John.

 Confirmation

Ordinarily eleventh graders receive Confirmation and preparation is required.  Confirmation is usually received in April.  Call the LIFE TEEN Office to make arrangements.

Adults desiring Confirmation should call Sr. Barbara concerning preparation scheduled in early winter.

 Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults/Children

Any adult or child (seven years and older) interested in becoming Catholic, should contact one of the priests or pastoral staff members to learn about the September to Easter preparation process.

 Marriage

Please contact one of the parish priests at least six months in advance.  Catholic parties are expected to be registered parishioners and attending Sunday Mass regularly.  Pre-Marital Preparation is required and done with the parish priest, in conjunction with programs such as Pre-Cana, Cana II, Engaged Encounter, etc. The priest preparing you will discuss the details of preparation.

 Annulments

Anyone in need of an annulment should call one of the Parish priests to begin the process.

 Anointing of the Sick and Communion to the Sick/Hospitalized

The Sacrament(s) are available at any time.  Please call the Parish Office to arrange to receive the Sacrament(s).

 Holy Orders/Vowed Religious Life

If you or someone you know may be interested in priesthood, diaconate or vowed religious life, please contact one of the priests or pastoral staff members.

 Funerals

In the event of a death, the funeral director will contact the Parish Office to coordinate the funeral arrangements.  Family members are encouraged to meet with the priest and music director to plan the funeral liturgy.

 Godparents/Sponsors

Anyone seeking to be a Godparent or a Sponsor for Baptism or Confirmation must be a practicing Catholic (attending Sunday Mass regularly), at least 16 years old and have received Confirmation.  Anyone who is married must be in a marriage recognized by the Catholic Church.
