“God has bestowed upon his people the gift of song. God dwells
within each human person, in the place where music takes its source.
Indeed, God the giver of song, is present whenever his people sing
his praises.”
(Sing to the Lord,
Music is an important aspect of the
church’s worship. Listed below are several ensembles that
Saint Mary offers to enhance each liturgical celebration. To
obtain more information or participate in an ensemble please
contact the parish music director, Mark Ludwig 330.650.0722 ext

mludwig@stmaryhudson.cc . Many find serving in a music
ministry to be a rewarding and holy experience. It is
an opportunity to meet fellow parishioners while praying music
that sanctifies and edifies the congregation.
Cantors aid the congregation in song.
Perhaps the most challenging of all music ministries, cantors must
posses a presence that is prayerful and not distracting to the
worshipers present. While professional vocalist or degrees
in music are not needed, cantors must be able to sing on pitch,
use accurate rhythm and have an understanding of tempo.
Cantors are supplied music and schedules months before mutually
agreed upon dates and must show up to mass prepared. The
music director is always available to help and answer questions
before assigned liturgies. For an audition, please contact
the music office. There are no age requirements.
Children’s Choir

through eighth grade that would like to learn or can sing.
Rehearsals, directed by Carol McCarthy, are held on Thursdays from
September through May . The Children’s Choir sings twice a
month, once at the 11:30 AM Mass on Sunday and at the 9:30 AM Mass
on Sunday. The Children’s choir enhances the Church’s
official prayer by offering a wide variety of musical repertoire

ministry develop a strong love of sacred music and continue to
serve their parishes through out their lives in this capacity.

Resurrection Choir

Resurrection Choir assists in liturgical singing at funerals
